The final microfiction piece of 2020 is about a wasp nest…sort of.
Since I believe that the overall feel should be a bit disjointed, I coated a black canvasboard with white gesso, causing sort of a “stressed denim” effect. After that dried, I chose black and two shades of deep blue for the base, making sure to swirl the brush so that something vaguely resembling a pattern emerged.
Pebeo Prisme paints do a fabulous job of creating a “honeycomb effect,” so when this dries, I’ll be attempting to create a nest in Stage 2!
Materials used: Black canvasboard, white gesso, watercolor paint.
