Yesterday, I more or less wrapped up a three-part custom project for @uxresearch (at my request, a friend is fact-checking a component of the fiction piece for me. It should be posted later this week).
Part Two was a custom painting based on the story. My initial attempt:
Which I then used filtering and a mirror tool to make:
Veevi really liked the left side, but didn’t love the right, so I repainted that side the next day. That resulted in:
When the painting dried, I ran it through the same filtering and mirror effects I’d used in Attempt #1…but because I’m me and can’t resist playing, I actually ended up with 5 different paintings (The original filtered, plus 4 remixes)!
Veevi couldn’t decide between options 1, 3, 4, and 5…so we’re keeping them all!
How did Version 2 change from what you see above to the “final” version? What do the remixes look like? What the heck IS this project, anyway?
Materials used: 8 x 10 canvas, fluid acrylics, metallic acrylics, liquid acrylics, fantasy paint, various filters and effects.
