Somewhere between Christmas and New Years, I visited (local and fantastic secondhand craft store) Scrap PDX and picked up several unexpected treasures. Among these: Semi-translucent fancy paper!
I thought I’d try it as a medium for a future poem or microfiction piece. Unfortunately, it…didn’t work very well.
So this morning, I used colored pencils on an oversized watercolor postcard and gave the bottom half a quick dip in cerulean blue acrylic ink.
I *think* I’m going to try inking onto a transparency, and then affixing the completed sheet onto the postcard. That’s going to be challenging because:
1. The transparency measures 11 x 14, whereas the postcard is only 5 x 7, and
2. I have no real way to tell how how much room I’ve got left on the transparency or what the margins before it exceeds the boundaries of the card.
So…is this idea going to work?
Materials used: Postcard, colored pencils, gel gloss, acrylic ink, clear gesso.
