Well…the good news is that Stage 2 ended up looking more or less like I’d imagined. The “secondary stems” (the lighter green) was applied using thin wooden sticks. Most of the petals were done with Q-Tips instead of a brush.
The less-good news is that there’s no way I can ink the poem on top of this painting without turning it into a complete mess.
So I think for Stage 3, I’ll pick a single line or two and ink those in the upper right-hand corner. Carefully. We’ll call it the abridged version?
