There’s been a lot of greenery showing up in the Painted Observations lately (both those already posted for this month and those to come). November’s poem, which is set in a plant nursery—
OK, technically, the narrator isn’t anywhere near a nursery. But one features into the poem heavily. You’ll see.
The base here is a lime acrylic ink (the last I have on hand, in fact…fortunately, it was enough!), with acrylic paint for the second layer. I didn’t quite paint this part the way I intended, mostly because I forgot that those phthalo green strokes are supposed to be for shading purposes rather than representing actual plant stems. I have an idea how to correct this; it’s a bit complicated, but we’ll find out later tonight if it worked or not, once the initial coat has had a chance to dry.
Materials used: Oversized canvas, acrylic ink, acrylic paint.
