I’d originally planned to use canvasboard for this month’s poem, but that was when I thought the word count would be around 200. It currently stands at about 700, making it one of the longest poems I’ve written. Clearly, a canvasboard wouldn’t be tall enough.
This is a combination of three different acrylic mediums (paint, neon paint, and ink), plus blending paint (the pastel-y pink areas) and three types of fantasy paint. On a suggestion from a local art store employee, I tried something new and mixed gel gloss into the bottom layers. Does it look a bit more vibrant than previous paintings at this stage? *I* think so, but…maybe I also want to justify buying a not-cheap tub of gel gloss? I’M CHOOSING THE REALITY IN WHICH IT DOES WORK.
Later today, I’m planning to shoot Poems to a Puppy Episode 3, so we’ll see how Captain Marvel feels about these stanzas!
