I made a lil’ soup consisting of China Blue and Banana acrylic paints, glow-in-the dark finish, and turpentine. After I smudged about 50% of the painting’s surface with it, I was left with a layer thick enough to write on, but still thin enough to allow some of the original layers to shine through.
I liked the contrast, but missed the vibrant colors I’d gotten in Stage 1. So…enter metallic gel pens.
Here’s a cross-section of the painting right after I dipped the soup on it.
And here’s that same section, but now colored in.
Materials used: acrylic paints, glow-in-the dark finish, turpentine, metallic gel pens.
