It’s sometimes challenging to decide on a painting medium. I’ve got plenty of art paper on hand, but only in black, and this is a story about chickens. I needed the reds and oranges and yellows to shine.
Then I remembered “Hey, I bought a ton of oversized watercolor cards for Painted Observations…what if I didn’t separate ’em like I usually do?” And it turns out that those cards are the perfect size of microfiction work (usually 100-200 words).
I may do some embellishment work later tonight, but not much. This feels like a story where keeping it simple is going to be the right answer.
Materials used: acryl gouache, acrylic paint, watercolor paint.
