This is the first time I’ve used a black canvas, and after applying neon acrylics and seeing the contrast…it may become my new default.
There’s several types of pigment happening here: the “building blocks” of the corners are comprised of neon yellow, and the sides have some slight decoration that I applied using Pebeo Vitrail. The swirls throughout that appear white are actually China Blue. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell.
Every “quadrant” has a small burst of a different neon hue, and the cross in the middle was done primarily with Fantasy Moon paint, I layered that with Prisme effects, then gave the canvas multiple acrylic ink baths.
The reds and yellows didn’t pop out as much as I’d like, but I anticipated that. These colors are icy, so for balance, I’ll be adding more warmth in Attempt #2 this afternoon!
